Aravos
Page |
|
|
- Arovos grow in most climates but not in arid areas; the
reason forthis lies in the biblical name "Arvei Nachal"
meaning willows of the brook;the Willow tree by nature tends
to grow near water.
- This however does not constitute an instruction by the
Torah to take the willow branches from a willow growing
near water.
 |
- The size of the Aravos should
be 3 tefachim this is 30cm accordinq to the Chazon Ish and
24cm accoriting to R Chayim Noeh
- 9.45 to 11.8 lnches
- The height should be measured
from the start of the leaves till the top of the stem.
- If the top leave comes off this
does not render it Pasul(unfit for the Mitzva), but if the
top part of the stem is missing then it is Pasul.
